About Young's Independent Funeral Directors
Having previously working for both large national funeral directors and local government bereavement services, we became more and more disillusioned with ever rising funeral costs and profit driven factory style services. This led to Young's, a truly family driven, independent and above all transparent and affordable funeral service provider.
Our small but highly skilled team has over 70 years combined experience and we work together seamlessly in order to offer the very best quality funeral care at honest, fair and transparent costs.
We opened our doors early 2014, In 2016 we were nominated as best new UK funeral director, achieving runner up from a shortlist of funeral care providers from across the UK. In 2017 our colleague and friend Lorraine Aitken was recognised as the UK's best funeral arranger. We are proud to provide the very best funeral-care available from our base in Hamilton.

David YoungDavid is our head funeral director, responsible for all areas relating to the delivery of the funeral services we conduct. David works alongside our funeral arrangers to ensure every detail is attended to, no matter how small. David is our qualified embalmer and is highly experienced in mortuary practice.

Claire YoungClaire has worked within the funeral industry since 2004 in various capacities, she is highly experienced in all areas of the funeral industry and has an active interest in combating funeral affordability. Providing advice and support on the completion of benefit and funding claims, she prides herself in assisting her families with every aspect of arranging a funeral.

Lorraine AitkenLorraine is in charge of the day to day running of our funeral parlour. In 2017 she was recognised as funeral arranger of the year at the Good Funeral Awards at London's Porchester Hall. Arranging a funeral service that is fitting to the individual is always Lorraine's focus, she works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that each and every final wish is fulfilled and works alongside David and Bobby to conduct funeral services.

Robert CarrollBobby is our Principle Funeral director, a familiar face to many as he has been providing funeral services and assistance to the people of Hamilton and surrounding areas for almost 40 years. Having worked for the co-op for 35 years before "retiring", bobby has a wealth of experience and is at the forefront in delivering all of our funeral services meticulously.
